PRESS RELEASES—EVENT INVITATION

STOP THE TRAFFIK turns Job Fair visitors into Red-light district prostitutes

Every year, thousands of young women are tricked into prostitution through the false promise of a better job abroad.

Now STOP THE TRAFFIK (together with Belgian advertising agency, Duval Guillaume) have come up with a confronting idea to raise awareness about this injustice and gather signatures for a declaration to the UN to help set up a global fund to fight human trafficking.

Next Monday 26th November, visitors to the Compass Jobs Fair in Hammersmith, London will come across a stand for 'Top Jobs Abroad', a fictional recruitment agency “offering the very best opportunities”. After being greeted by the friendly representative they will be ushered through a door, and straight into a Red-light district window—in full view of passers by.

The 'victims' will then exit the window onto the official STOP THE TRAFFIK stand where they will be given further information about the plight of women trafficked into sex slavery through false pretences and be invited to sign the declaration to the UN.

Members of STOP THE TRAFFIK will be on hand at the event, providing a seminar about human trafficking and speaking to the public.

We invite you, the press, to attend the event and cover this very unusual stunt. Aside from raising awareness, the primary objective is to drive the public to sign the 1 million name declaration on www.stopthetraffik.org.
