WHAT WE'VE ACHIEVED SO FAR

ACT groups are springing up all over the world –

Norwich, UK

Emma, a dedicated supporter has set up an official STOP THE TRAFFIK society at her university! As one of their first actions they held a day of flash mobs, challenged community members to guess how much a girl is worth, danced, asked people to fill in questionnaires and more besides. As a result of their actions, they were on the local news, in the local paper and interviewed on radio!

Melbourne, Australia

A committed group in Australia led by Gavin, will be leading on an Australia community information project! At the moment, they are raising awareness, making police contacts and looking at how to tackle trafficking for sexual exploitation in a country with radically different prostitution laws to most of central Europe.

Liverpool, UK

A team led by Brenda in Liverpool are slowly taking over the city! This ACT group has become so popular there are separate teams! One researches the local sex industry and others look at: fundraising, events, campaign and lobbying, working with the museum of slavery and in schools. They are currently developing an awareness campaign for taxi drivers.

Cologne, Germany

A group in Cologne have recently taken time to translate our website so information and some campaigns are accessible to people who speak German – what an excellent way to get others involved and create awareness around trafficking.

Manchester, UK

The ACT group in Manchester have recently been approached by their police contact to offer a befriending service to victims of trafficking. Under the lead of Julia, they are now offering help and support to those who need it most.
