EDUCATION ... a ticket to freedom?

"Girls who receive an education are more empowered, better prepared to protect themselves against violence, abuse, exploitation, trafficking and less vulnerable to disease"
–United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative

Around the world, girls are less likely to go to school and more likely to be illiterate than their brothers. Less education means girls have fewer opportunities to get a job later in life making them more vulnerable to being trafficked. Every year, thousands and thousands of girls are trafficked, but does it have to be this way?

WE BELIEVE…

The longer a girl is in education, the less vulnerable she is to being trafficked. When she is in school, she is in a safe environment and when she finishes, the more choices she has about her future.

An excellent education will not stop all human trafficking- that is true. We know that literate, qualified girls who have limited employment opportunities may end up just trusting the wrong person; but that is why Freedom Ticket for Life links a girl’s education to training, jobs and lessons on how to migrate to another country safely.

AIMS

This campaign focuses on 4 projects which are aimed at providing education and training to vulnerable girls in trafficking hot spots around the world. We want people to get involved with these projects by raising money through getting sponsored to run, walk, crawl, race in wheels or hobble!

Together we can give girls more options and empower them to protect and support themselves so they don’t fall prey to the lies of traffickers.
