GLOBAL POLICY - Our Aims

STOP THE TRAFFIK as a worldwide movement is involved in advocating at global, regional, and national levels to tackle human trafficking

Globally

STOP THE TRAFFIK advocates for the implementation of the 2000 United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in Persons, which focuses on preventing human trafficking and protecting trafficking victims. We are also working with the multi-agency United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) to raise awareness amongst young people through Start Freedom.

Regionally

STOP THE TRAFFIK advocates for the implementation of various agreements, such as the 2005 Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings which, as well as prevention and protection, also focuses on prosecuting human traffickers and increasing cooperation with civil society. We are also advocating for a European Union (EU) single-number helpline for human trafficking victims.

Nationally

STOP THE TRAFFIK advocates for the three P’s: Prevention, Prosecution, and Protection. This takes different forms in different countries:
