How to share your START FREEDOM videos on Youtube

We’ve set up a STOP THE TRAFFIK channel on YouTube. It’s easy to put up your videos - it only takes 5 minutes and you’ll be able to check out everyone else’s videos at the same time.

7 simple steps to putting your photos on STOP THE TRAFFIK’s YouTube channel

1. 1Transfer you video

   Make sure you’ve transferred your video from your camera / mobile phone to a computer, so it’s ready to go on the internet. If you’ve borrowed someone else’s camera, ask them to show you how to do this.

2. 2Check format

   In order to get your video onto YouTube you have to make sure it’s in the right format. The formats that work best are .mov, .avi, .MPEG, or .wmv. If your video looks like it’s in the wrong format you should be able to convert it by saving it on your computer in a different format.

3. 3Sign up or create an Account

   If you’ve not got a youtube account:
   sign up for one. Go to www.youtube.com and click on ‘Create Account’

   Sign into your youtube account: at: www.youtube.com/user/STOPTHETRAFFIKglobal
   Click on ‘View comments, related videos and more‘
   Click on ‘Post a video response
   Click on ‘upload a video’ and follow the instructions

4. 4Add title and details

   In the process of uploading make sure you:

   Enter a title: We suggest you give your school / youth projects name, and which country you are from, i.e. ‘Westfield High School’s (UK) taking part in START FREEDOM’.

   Enter a description: write where you are from and what you have been doing (but not you exact address). And if you need to be anonymous for child protection issues that is fine.

   Enter tag words: These are words related to the video which help people find it when they search on YouTube. You can have as many as you like, but please include ‘START FREEDOM’, ‘STOP THE TRAFFIK’ and ‘human trafficking’.

5. 5Add 'STTSTARTFREEDOM' tag

   This is how STOP THE TRAFFIK adds your videos to the START FREEDOM website if you want your videos on website add a tag 'STTSTARTFREEDOM'.

6. 6Save changes

   Once it’s finished uploading, you should get a message saying your upload has been successful. Just click ‘save changes’ and you’re done! It won’t be live on the YouTube channel immediately, but as soon as we’ve checked our YouTube in box, we’ll be able to publish it.

   If you need to you can edit the information about your video later, but otherwise just sit back and wait for the compliments to roll in.

7. 7 Spread the word

   Spread the word about the YouTube channel and www.startfreedom.org so everyone can see the Greatest Freedom Show on Earth – a global showcase of what you and young people worldwide have being doing as part of START FREEDOM.
