STOP THE TRAFFIK prevents the exploitation and trafficking of those who are vulnerable. Our model of prevention programmes specifically aims to prevent the recruitment of vulnerable people by traffickers globally, by providing them with bespoke safety information through geo-targeted social media adverts. The role of the Project Manager is to oversee the effective delivery of these programmes, working closely alongside NGOs on the ground.

For the first 9 months, this role will focus on a campaign targeting the route between Romania and the UK. Young women in Romania are being trafficked to the UK for the purposes of sexual exploitation. Traffickers are preying on vulnerabilities relating to their families or socioeconomic backgrounds to dupe or coerce them into sexual exploitation. In those situations, they feel they have no way out.

Through our extensive experience in preventing the recruitment of vulnerable people and disrupting trafficking networks, we have learned that building a clear picture of the trafficking model and equipping at-risk communities with the tools to keep themselves safe are paramount to stopping this crime.

STOP THE TRAFFIK and Traffik Analysis Hub are therefore running a Prevention Programme to tackle this sexual exploitation route, and urgently need a Prevention Project Manager to lead and deliver on these efforts to bring critical safety information to young women in Romania. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating activity with partners in Romania and the UK, including NGOs, law enforcement & government, public and private, and civil society.  Alongside building an intelligence picture on the trafficking route through the partnerships, the Project Manager will deliver a geo-targeted social media campaign in Romania to provide young women the safety information and signposting they need to keep themselves safe from exploitation.

After this programme finishes, this role will shift to managing another programme of a similar nature, targeting a different route or hotspot.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Create and deliver bespoke digital campaigns that will target vulnerable people with critical safety information.
  • Create and launch adverts on social media and other mediums such as posters, landing pages and other resources to reach vulnerable people.
  • Manage and build trust with diverse partners (NGOs, government agencies, law enforcement, community leaders) who will contribute towards the effectiveness of the programme. Partnership purposes include intelligence-building, and signposting survivors to safety.
