This winter, support STOP THE TRAFFIK

Your donation is vital in enabling us to combat human trafficking. By donating, you are supporting our projects for 2022.

It's been a tough year.

All across the world, climate collapse, political turmoil and the ongoing impact of Covid-19 has sent vulnerable people into new and exacerbated exploitative situations.

We’ve seen a rise in foodbank use and unemployment. The National Referral Mechanism, the UK’s system for identifying victims of modern slavery and human trafficking, revealed up to 13 children a day are trafficked in the United Kingdom. Renewed conflict in Afghanistan and across the Middle East has led to the forced displacement of millions of people.

In times like these, it’s easy to feel powerless and overwhelmed. But we are not alone. Collaboration has always been at the heart of our organisational ethos, and this year the power of the collective has felt more vital than ever.

By working closely with key NGO partners, clients, businesses, financial institutions, and survivors, in 2021 we’ve delivered over 20 global projects including:

  • Running awareness and prevention campaigns in Farsi, Arabic, Urdu, and Bengali, giving vital messages of safety, hope and choice to refugees fleeing conflict in the Middle East. 80% of those reached said that they would take preventative action following our campaigns.
  • We have carried out the first phase of a child exploitation prevention campaign targeting over 700,000 caregivers across the UK with information on indicators of potential exploitation, how to talk to young people about trafficking, and what to do if concerns arise.
  • We have partnered with companies such as Whitbread, Costa, Santander and KFC to risk map their operations, and our toolkit for small businesses has been downloaded over 2,500 times. We work with businesses to help them understand risk in their supply chains and to eliminate potential exploitation within their operations.

With your support, we can continue to tackle trafficking with our work.

We can help to develop resilient and risk-aware communities with our award-winning preventative campaigns, making it harder for traffickers to recruit new victims. We can continue reaching refugees and asylum seekers fleeing conflict with advice and support to help them take preventative action when it comes to potential exploitation. We can run more free workshops with small and medium size enterprises using our SME Toolkit. We can continue our work training organisations to be able to better identify and mitigate potential areas of risk and effectively respond to suspicions, making it harder for traffickers to operate within society.

What you can do to help:

No matter the size of your team, there’s more than one way to help.

1. Share internally.

Sharing internally is a great way to publicise our message among your team and utilise their collective giving power. It’s also a way for the organisation to work together for a good cause. Get the team together, and put the FUN in fundraising.

2. Match fund employee donations.

Matching funding boosts the impact of individual employee donations. Additionally, studies show people are more likely to get involved charitably if they feel they have the support of their colleagues. Get behind your team and watch them go!

3. Pledge an amount as an organisation.

Giving directly to STOP THE TRAFFIK helps us reach our campaign goals faster – and it’s also tax-deductible. Demonstrate your values as a company and support our cause this winter!
