STOP THE TRAFFIK Global is delighted to announce that on Thursday 27th October 2022, we will be hosting the first annual global Data to Disrupt Trafficking Awards 2022 #D2DT22 in London, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s leading cloud platform, powering innovation.

“We are so excited to launch #D2DT22: an awards event with a difference. We will be celebrating those who are using the power of technology to share data, build trust and turn on the spotlight of transparency for everyone to take action”.  Ruth Dearnley OBE, CEO STOP THE TRAFFIK

    • Here at STOP THE TRAFFIK, we leverage the power of data and technology to prevent human trafficking through our innovative intelligence led approach.
    • We believe that MSHT thrives so long as its profits move unimpeded through financial institutions, businesses overlook exploitation in their supply chain and vulnerable communities remain unaware of how and where traffickers operate.
    • To this end, we want to celebrate and recognise the pioneers and early adopters of change who are paving the way in this space, demonstrating how through innovation, collaboration, data and technology, meaningful disruption of human trafficking is possible.
  • In short – anyone! We want to celebrate the use of data and technology to disrupt trafficking across a variety of sectors and organisations. Including, but not limited to:

      • Civil Society Organisations
      • Non-profit Organisations
      • Research Institutions and Universities
      • Businesses
      • Banks and Financial Insitutions
      • Law Enforcement Agencies
  • We will be awarding multiple commendations, and selecting one winner, from the nominated organisations, projects, initiatives, collaborations, and individuals under each of the below categories:

    • Disruption of Supply

Threaten or disrupt traffickers’ ability to infiltrate supply chains

    • Disruption of Money

Increase transparency and disrupt the money flows that are generated by traffickers.

    • Disruption of Recruitment

Prevent vulnerable communities being recruited/coerced into trafficking.

    • Lived Experience Led Disruption

Disrupt trafficking through a lived experience led initiative.

    • Collaborative Disruption

Disrupt trafficking through multi-stakeholder partnership and collaboration.

If you are unsure what category to nominate for, please submit the form without a category selected and we can advise.

  • The criteria for a commendation is that you can evidence the use of data and technology to disrupt trafficking.

Following this, a judging panel will review all commendations, and select a winner under each of the above categories.

  • To nominate an organisation, business, initiative, individual or yourself for a commendation – please complete our short form here.

  • The deadline for nominations is the 31st of August.

Following nominations, we will be reaching out to nominees to find out a bit more about the project and its impact. We will ask for no more than 500 words and these will be received by the 19th of September.

  • To register your interest in attending, please visit our Eventbrite.
